balanced acidity-earthy-black tea finish. this needs time. paired surprising well with sushi/asian beef dishes.

Costco--$16. This is going to be a deal at some point. Bright-new world fruit but very tannic right now (of course).

Nutty nose. Butterscotch/peach/lemon finish with great acidity. A perfect balance between a Chablis and a Cal Chard as suggested by the wait staff.

HUGE dark fruit nose. Tannic, as you would expect, but great cherry on the finish. This was my first shot at a big 05 and I can not wait to try this and as many as possible over the next 20 years.

Paid $8. My first experiment with pulling an 05 Bordeaux off the grocery store shelf just to give it a try. Old world dusty nose with some spice. Short slightly bitter finish but none of the “bad” tastes I usually find in this level of wine. Would be great with a burger on a Thursday night kind of wine.

agree with gv--don't know about whipped cream, however. If you have tried a Walter Hansel chardonnay and thought the nutty flavor a bit too much, this wine does it right. This is a DEAL and a reason not to avoid California chardonnay like I have been doing for years

Mineral/floral nose. Substantial weight for pg. Long creamy (maybe butter) finish with melon coming through. I am a huge fan of pg done well and this is a good one. GREAT QPR.

A little fake fruit nose--hot fake finish--very sour BUT the acidty carries well over spicy food.

lots of oak but it works. spicy nose-sour veggie (bell pepper) finish. Interesting.

loved the 2004 version. this did not have the same structure and complexity.

We agree with GV this time. Cantelope, sour apples very heavy.

Dark Cherry, Vanilla, Mocha flavor. Light tannin that could settle down over a couple of years. A little hot on the finish.

It took 3 hours for the tannins to settle down..after that it was a different wine

veggie/pepper nose that softened after 2 hours. more dark fruit flavor than expected. Great long finish.

We drank this with a chicken pasta and the wine matched well with the cheeses and herbs

We drank this a little chilled and it was great. Not as good when it warmed up.
