Not decanted, consumed over 2 hours. Hints of cherry skins on the palate, but really more floral and woody notes, with the wood being noticeable at first but mostly disappearing after a little bit of time in the glass. Enough acid, mild dusty tannins, and correct (if somewhat dilute) nebbiolo character.

While this doesn't seem to have the fruit to last and might not live up to high expectations because it's labeled Barbaresco, you'll have a hard time finding a better $10 nebbiolo for near-term drinking. (If you know of one, I'm all ears.)

5/18/13, 12:07 PM - I bought all 3 Bret. Thanks for your suggestion to get the Barbaresco on the "Under $15" thread. I will try the Barbaresco and Barolo tomorrow. Barolo was $13.99. They had the Barbera at TJ's sampling table today, and it tasted like red fruits with a little too much acidity, but for $5.49, I'm taking it to a neighborhood cookout.

First time with a Verdelho/Verdejo. Rich golden color with medium body. Aromas of bread/yeast, pear, honey, peach, apricot and citrus. Flavors of pear, honey, mandarin orange, nutmeg, butter, with a hot alcohol finish. Fresh acidity and medium finish, but the alcohol (15.5%) is a little too much for me, especially in a white wine. It felt like I drank some liquor instead of wine.
