9/23/23, 2:04 PM - Hi! At the end of night one I rebottled and vacuum sealed the wine prior to drinking night 2. Sorry about the confusion.
5/9/23, 8:47 PM - Thanks for sharing your reflections here, CH. Brought a tear to my eye… nice to find unexpected reminders of what is truly important. Cheers.
1/16/20, 4:15 PM - Not too young to drink now. Most of my 2010 Brunellos I haven't touched, but this 2014 Ciacci I had last night was nothing short of superb. I was surprised at how drinkable it was out of the bottle, without a decant, and without food. It was not overly tannic or at all astringent, but rather smooth, balanced and fruit forward. I don't have a ton of experience with Brunello, but have been cellaring most of my bottles on the assumption they would be better after 10+ years of age. Based on my experience last night, might start to dabble a bit.
12/2/16, 6:34 PM - Hi Strategies. Just picked up a couple of bottles of the 2004 Piedrasassi from Mayfair Liquors, one of my favorite local wine shops. I note that this post is from 4 years ago, but if the Mayfair tasting group lives on, I would love to learn more, as long as you're okay with a Park Hill interloper infiltrating your ranks. Thanks! -Bob Congdon
8/30/16, 9:46 PM - Right you are, Ninja. Bit of an oversight there on my part. Thanks... Appreciate your attention to detail. Corrected my note. Cheers!
1/19/16, 8:43 PM - Thanks for the note, Dave. To be clear, this wine was ridiculously delicious, and with the decant I thought drinking extraordinarily well right now. I have only 1 remaining at this point, so unless I get more I want to wait a bit to see how it develops. 3-5 year note was more for my own recollection. I would not dissuade you from drinking this now if young right bank Bordeaux is up your alley. We all loved it. -Bob
