I have so much to say about this wine!
Appearance is Clear, deep, ruby into a narrow garnet rim and check out those legs!!
The nose is Clean, pronounced intensity developing aromas of cassis, ripe blackberries, sweet vanilla, cedar, leather, game, wet leaves, forest, savoury notes, this wine is still developing!
Palate is Dry, high acidity, high tannin, high alcohol, full bodied and pronounced flavours that match up with the nose, ripe black fruit and a whole whack of tertiary flavours, very well balanced, long finish.
Outstanding
can drink now, but definitely has the potential for further ageing
premium price category.
This wine continued to evolve in the glass throughout the night and really just kept giving. It was chosen as #1 in a blind tasting(of 6 people) up against 6 other C.S and 2 within the same price range. 1 with more age.
There is something to be said for drinking a wine within the correct time frame. I see some tasting notes giving this less than the score it should be receiving as it does show the varietal perfectly. As well as meeting all criteria for an 'outstanding': Balance, Intensity, Length, Complexity, Expressiveness. Either it's corked and some people can't pick that up or it's being consumed way too young.
