Opened a bit late - let breath for between 45 minutes and an hour
Appearance - beautiful ruby red; light - not opaque at all; very light legs - almost not there
Nose - mostly fruit - cassis and blackberry dominate
Taste - The tannins are still there and they are right up front; berry mélange lurks behind the tannins; exceptional dryness; hints of spice
Finish - smooth; fairly long; consistent - well worth inhaling nasally a few times to prolong
Overall - With the strong tannins might have benefited from another year or two in the cellar; funny, served with ribeyes and asparagus - pretty sure it was the marbling in the ribeyes, but could have been the additional time breathing, but with food the fruits came to the fore and the tannins took a back seat - a definite plus.
