Popped and vinturri. Just lovely. Good juicy fruit plenty of acid in a good way. This wine is a great example of the 13 vintage. The hint of smoke has mellowed but adds a nice layer of depth. Absolutely delicious! I only have one more. May need to buy more. Great job to the awesome Lange family!

Not sure what to make of this. It acts like a shut down wine. There is a decent nose of red and black fruits with a hint of spice. On the palate, a bit of sour cherry. Nice acidity and tannins. Decant the next one and see if it opens up. 88 for now.

11/10/15, 5:50 PM - I had a similar experience with my last bottle of this wine but didn't really articulate my feeling. Reading your review I think you've nailed it.

Very intense and expressive bouquet with ripe dark fruits, garrigue, asphalt, tar and good bell pepper. On the palate a mouth full of beautiful fruits juice (dark forest fruits and cherries) and spice box. Some pleasant sweetness, beautifully balanced by good acidity and soft tannin. Overall an almost explosive wine which is complex, extremely harmonious, soft and round and has a great length. Completely ready now and the next 4+ years, but no reason to wait any longer.

6/3/15, 6:13 PM - We have been drinking our way through the last half case we have, with great pleasure. Some variation bottle to bottle, but always interesting and usually wonderful.
