There is something here not quite perfect. Don’t get me wrong it is a deep and bold red with intense aromas and flavours, but there is a stale offish over ripe scent and taste that follows. It is still enjoyable but the whole experience remains a puzzle that still needs working out. Best drinking till 2025.

2010 was a tough vintage in the Hunter Valley and unfortunately this wine did not shine. No strengths to pinpoint but to be fair the average vintage rating for 2010 was 75/100 for Shiraz, so the Glandore Hunter Shiraz does punch above its weight. If you must have a 2010 vintage this is worth the buy, otherwise there is more wine to choose elsewhere. Best drinking till 2020.

A Shiraz out of Orange in 2012 was not regarded a great vintage so after tasting this wine your mind will be blown. It is medium bodied at best but it punches so far above its weight in aroma and flavour. it is astounding. Strong spices, fruits and pleasant oak blend to create a sophisticated wine. It is the intensity of colour, aromas, flavours and finish that makes this such a complete wine, particularly in a vintage out of the Hunter Valley that was rated sub 75.
