2011 Chartogne-Taillet Champagne Beaux Sens Pinot Meunier
2011 base with dosage of 3 g/l, 100% PM. Don’t see a disgorge date. A very unique tasting wine. On one hand, I like the lemon curd and pie crust quality and brushing of herb (mint?), yet it also reflects a flatness to me, a rounded profile that lacks complexity. It’s showing a bit of a bruised yellow apple quality too, a little oxidized in tone. My belief is that this is ready to drink now, provided you agree with my assessment about complexity.

Extrovert and open, quite broad for a Salon. Very fine. Wonder why you shoukd keep this vintage - seems exellent t drink now.

Fete de Champagne Grand Tasting (Astor Center, NYC.): (100% Pinot Meunier, from soil w more slate). Chalky and flinty, lemon - really light, wiry and focused. Very austere on the palate with stones. lemon, steel. Great burn. Lemon and ginger finish. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16.5-17/20.
