Opaque and dark. It smells like cloves and cedar. It is so smooth with a little burn to it and a peppery flavor. May not be worth the price we paid for it, but it's a nice special wine for a special occasion. We had it with a delicious steak dinner.

We got three cases of this wine at a low cost from a restaurant that was closing. First bottle we drank didn't really do much for us. But we tried a second bottle and it began to grow on us. We think it pairs well with spicy food. When we openend the second bottle, we didn't drink all of it. We still had 3/4 of the bottle left. We let is sit (with the cork in it) for a week or so because we went out of town. Came back and drank it and found that it had a real bite to it. Vey good flavor and a bit of a burn as you let it go down. So now I'm glad we have 3 cases of this. I think that the trick is to let it breath a while.

My wifes comments are that is is medium dark, lots of fingers, and has a fruit bouquet, lots of fingers on the glass, and a peppery burn. :-)
