2012 d'Arenberg Shiraz The Dead Arm McLaren Vale

It completes surprise to the downside. It's green on the nose and it's green on the pallet. It doesn't quite come across as hot but it's certainly is not a good example of mclaren Vale or of dead arm.

7/3/22, 1:39 PM - I tried the 2012 last year, then like you was completely disappointed. I think I have one bottle left - won't be holding my breath for it.

2010 Viña Magaña Navarra Barón de Magaña Red Blend
A blend of 35% Merlot, 35% Tempranillo, 20% Cabernet-Sauvignon and 10% Syrah, vines planted in 1970, 14% ABV. Parker adores it, praises its lushness and purity, calls it sexy and supple and awards 93 points. He must have tasted a different wine, because I am getting rather raw bitters and a green, mean palate. Let's assume my bottle is off. Judgement withheld.

4/27/17, 5:34 PM - I've found this consistently with Parkers reviews of Spanish wines. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

for the price I'd rather have a Melville Syrah or Australian Shiraz. Give it a good hour to breathe before drinking; my first glass had a nasty aftertaste but it mellowed out.

10/27/16, 9:14 PM - for some reason it posted my rating as in the 70s. corrected to 90.
