You HAVE to let this guy open up. I purchased two bottles and thought the first one may have been faulty. When I opened the second one with a friend it also didn't taste quite right. We were disappointed but continued to drink it. After a couple of hours when we were on our final glass the wine completely opened up and was very nice. I wish I'd have read these reviews before :(

Amazing. One of the few wines I would put up with the best of Paso. One point is that the 2012 was, in my opinion, better than the rest I had tried. Terry Hoage is thumbs up!!

Wasn't a big fan of the nose on this. I drank it over 2 evenings and noticed it did improve in terms of nose and taste the second day. More fruit came out.

Very fruit forward. This wine tasted and smelt great out of a big bowl.

Will be going back next time I am in Paso.

I bought this to drink along with a Paso Viognier I liked as I'm new to wine and wanted to compare an old world example with a new world.

The nose was beautiful and the fruit did come through on taste. I still didn't think it was as crisp or fresh as the California one but it was good.

I would buy again.

2013 Carhartt Vineyard Rebel Roan Santa Ynez Valley Syrah Blend, Syrah (view label images)
Nice solid wine. Plenty of fruit, drank this with steak.

Would buy again.

Lovely wine. Great crisp, clean, fresh and light. Lots of peach as the wine opens up.

Will buy again.

Amazing wine. It was the staff in the L'aventure (Stephan Asseo) tasting room, which is just a stones throw away, that recommended we stop here.

For me this had slightly more fruit to it than some of the other Rhone varietals I've tried in this Paso Robles area which I liked very much. Very silky smooth finish.

I will be purchasing more on my next trip and maybe a couple of other vintages if available.
