Stumbled upon at a random liquor store in nyc ues.

Wonderful aromas of blackberry and raspberry compote, cassis, sage and minty herbs, cigar, anise, woody notes.

Still plenty of acidity to balance the warm fruit flavors and tannin, plus an underpinning of solid secondary flavors.

More fruit than the ‘86, and therefore more to my style.

Delicious and would love to enjoy again at some point.

Worried it might be a little early, but was pleasantly surprised. After 30 min in the glass the acidity faded enough to reveal interesting primary and secondary flavors.

On the nose, almond croissant, light lemon curd. Primary stone fruit, marzipan, light oak notes. Glycerin mouthfeel, good viscosity. Medium+ acid with pleasant, clean finish.

Still great on night 2, albeit with a little more of the malo character peeking through.

IMO more approachable and enjoyable than the Sonoma coast offering right now.

Excellent value for “entry level” chard. Looking forward to remaining bottles and will enjoy more soon.
