The wine is good. I consider 10+ years of age too much age for Zin but not here. Have a big glass and have fun. Enjoy this wine for what it is.

A very nice surprise. Beat all expectations. A cellar sleeper.

Yep, someone out there still has a bottle...well, had a bottle. It'll work with my tri-tip tonight. Actually probably will go real well with BBQ sauce and my meat.

Starting to get a little old, but still pleasant. My bottle was a little musty and had a bit or cork. Dunked some cling wrap in it and it worked, the wine got better. Texture is good, intensity is in range and some interesting veg/fruit lurks.

He grew it. He made it. I drank it. Other consumer notes are good. It is a fun wine.

Deep ruby, stains the glass. Fresh fruity nose when first opened. Flavors of cassis and dried flowers-rose, oak. Bottle age begins to show with a little air. This wine is on the front side of ready to drink. Enjoy for several more years.
Red
Leather, coffee, hint of tart fruit that maybe was there. Nose is rich, palate is mostly flat but drinkable for older mid priced Napa cab.
Red
Generous nose and loads of flavor. New world all the way. My notes are consistent with the other CT comments. It's good, don't be scared. ???
Red
Dense and rich. Drink it up and be happy.
Red
Good bottle of aged red. Some brett, cough drop, menthol and hints of the the fruit basket from yesteryear. There is life in this wine. I don't have a lot of comparison for bottle aged Zin, but no complaints here. The wine is balance and complex,

It's great. Loads of the good Cabernet stuff, soft and rich like a fur coat. The wine is hitting on all cylinders right now. We popped and poured at lunch and were a happy bunch. Exceeded expectation. I agree with the other recent tasters on CT.

Drank this bottle on what was supposed to be the end do the world. The news was all about the Mayan apocalypse, I pulled a Ceja from the cellar. Go figure. I could've died happy.

Lots of flavor but brett dominates. I wouldn't call it a brett bomb but it is rather old-worldly.

Benefited from decanting. Nice varietal fruit showed up after an hour or more. More cerebral than headonic but hanging tough. It's a meatloaf wine and I am happy to have more.

Ripe fruit nose, rich chewy texture. Falters a little on flavor...like there should be more. It's a big soft smoothie that will pair great with what's for dinner. Drink it if you got it.

Bright rich red velvet color. nose is fruit jam, cherry sweet oak on top of green leaf smells. Nose follows on to the palette, straightforward Cabernet but not simple. Finish is creamy with fruit tannin lingering in the tongue to savor till the next sip. I'm satisfied; bought a case this btl #1.

Probably the single most versatile wine on the market. Drank it tonight with bacon cheeseburger sliders and potato chips and it hit the spot on every slug.

Let it sit for about an hour and enjoy! Subtle flavors, mostly tart and some interesting ashy spearmint. Nice soft texture.

cork crumbled, decanted through a screen. Not a robust wine but pretty nice dusty old cab, I wish had let it air out and warm up a bit, it starting hitting its stride on the last few drops.

Holding up nice. Lighter than I expected for tannat-cab-merlot, maybe it was just mellow with time in bottle. Fruit was there or at least fruitiness, someone said cherries, I didn't pick up anything specific.

- Purple color. It's balanced and has flavours of raspberry and violet with a medium body. Polished texture with a medium finish.

Spiced plums peaches cherries. Nice follow through on to the palate, Acid framed the fruit nicely and tannin was not obvious. No green flavors at all just pretty fruit and spicy oak.

Not an intense wine, watery citrus flavors. Wifey called out honey and she rarely offers up descriptors. Pleasant drinking wine.

Lite apple, bruised apple nose and favors. I chose it off the wine list (Cyrus, Healdsburg CA) as a modest alternative to champagne and was very satisfied by both the wine quality and purchase price.

Clear white/gold color. Nose is not overly expressive but that seems to be the style as I interpret from the winery notes. Flavors and texture are influenced by the 16% alc., tasted a bit like a lemon drop cocktail with out the simple syrup; citrus essence and bitter. I must say, this is the first CH that I have been excited about in a while. I don't get it yet, but I'll keep studying.

Drinking nicely for a consumer tier Pinot Noir. More acid than fruit but heavy with classic PN aromas; vinous nose. Wine held up over night in the decanter too. Next day had nice cherry fruit and was as pleasant as the night before.

- Yellow gold color with medium forming legs and aromas of hay/straw and lemon. It's somewhat balanced with a medium/full body. Round texture with a long finish - Oak and acid is in balance but you have to work for the fruit. Texture is luxurious, an the finish is like a summer day in Sonoma.

Burnt orange, apple juice. Balanced acid and sweetness. Not "sticky" sweet, finish is kind of peachy.

Alex says "velvet plums", I'm still reeling a bit from sticker shock (even though I bought on release day). It's Napa cab and drinking very young despite 9 years of age. Oak is primary and not fully integrated yet but "feels" like it will get there in a few more years. The wine the is "just" straight forward cab, it is easy to accept as is and not pick apart trying to find the complexity...should wine be complex our just great? Happy to says I got another one in cellar to ponder later. I'll probably wait another 5 yrs for it.

Deep dark blood red. Tinge to brown rather than purple black. Aroma of stewed cherries, cassis, hoisin. My smell memory goes to huckleberry duck sauce. Flavors mostly match although I like more fruit on a cab that should be peaking. Good texture. Finish is more waxy than dusty. The wine is above ave but I detest the tall thin bottles that chew up space in the cellar.

Pleasant oak and cranberry, raspberry nose. It's a dark red wine and the cork pulled out a with a crust of tartrates. Taste is solid red wine, not showy mostly driven by tannin with hints of luscious fruit that never really appears. Straight forward Sonoma red blend from an established producer, drink/buy with confidence.

Let it open up and evolve in the glass. Black/brown olive flavors and an old baseball mitt finish. Good not great, but I have huge expectation for a well cellared, 10 yr old SLD cab.

Old world in style, not sure if it was Brett or Mouvedre that dominated the nose. The wine was a pleasant reminder of the winery and style but it was not overtly pleasant to taste. Nose was fun or a least a challenge to decided if the wine was flawed or styled this way. Flavors were muddled leather and earth, dusty old flowers. Acid and tannin are there to carry the wine. I'll probably taste the dredges of the bottle today just to see if we should have let it breathe awhile longer.

Fruit is mostly gone having evolved into nice vinous flavors. Acid is good an tannin comes across as pencil shavings. Just pulled the cork and hoping in melds well through the meal.

Aged red wine without any particular Cab Franc characteristics. Some sediment, though the color was still rich. Good enough that I wish I had another btl and glad I don't have a case.

seepage around the cork but the wine was not damaged to my taste. Nice core of cabernet fruit. The wine was alive and had not developed the bouquet I had expected (even with the possible aging from a not perfect storage). Way better than expected.
