Delicious nose on the elegant side for Pegau, with garrique and black cherries. Medium to full bodied, opulent and rich and really with some punch. A long peppery and intense finish with chewy tannins. This is fine to drink today.

4/10/24, 7:54 AM - It was pop and poured, and as far as i remember it didnt change during the evening. Theres really some power here, but it was great to drink.

Very tiny taste and then recorked for 32 hours, and then PNP over dinner and enjoyed for 2 hours. I think this treatment finally pulled the good stuff out of this wine after two disappointing previous attempts. It still needed 30-45 to fully open so next time I would do at least a 24 hour slow ox and then decant for an hour before serving. Cool red fruit, minerals, very graceful wine, but maybe a tad short of great on the mid-palate. Still enjoyed it a great deal. A-/?

There's pretty much vanilla on the nose thats not that expressive, but pretty airy. The palate is dense, chewy, and very attractive. There's blackberry and also a hint of chocolate in a juicy and almost decadent way. Lovely sweet fruit on the elegant long finish. Although you feel this is Rioja, there's also a feel of bdx. It's even better than last time i had it and not heavy at all.

Beautiful light golden color.
Nose: citrus, apple.
Palate: the wine has a full bodied beautiful mouthfeel, tastes of melon, lemon, apple; wonderful balance with good acidity but also opulent fruit characteristic of great Meursault. Swishable. The finish is medium-long and very nice.
This paired incredibly well with perfectly cooked halibut at “Bleu” in Cape Cod. Wonderful stuff.
Paid $100 at restaurant.

Pop and poured, this is immediately ready. Lovely nose with pepper, rosemary, and other herbs, partly like smelling a cowsheed and also black fruit. The palate is fresh and balanced with sweet fruit, ending in a medium finish with lingering tannins.
This is not as concentrated as many Pegau's, but it is very expressive and clean. It is delicious and juicy and to my palate it is ready now.

Maybe not the most expressive nose but very well balanced with licorice, roses, orange peel, eucalyptus and tobacco. Palate with a fine attack ending in a medium dry finish. With food there's hint of more fruit in the mid palate and finish, but given the producer and vintage i had higher expectations.

1/21/22, 1:18 AM - I didnt decant, but kept 2 glasses for the next day, but it didnt serm to change anything. It was clearly best wih food.
The wine had a lot of sediment, which i would filter if i had another bottle. Good luck with your bottle.
