Tasted at the 2 and 3 hour marks during the decant - tannins were still overwhelming but wine was booming.

At Hour 4 the tannins had integrated and were very smooth, but the fruit had subsided and/or stewed.

A nice, quality wine, but runs too hot, couldn’t find an ideal drinking window and the leather notes are too pronounced for my taste.

Definitely curious to see this with a few more years.

8/28/21, 5:28 PM - I find that with the young CLGs if you can save them until day 2-3 they open up and explode fruit.

This wine makes me think about how I can quit my job to follow it around like the Grateful Dead. Hard to say what’s so great — different every sip, always fascinating. Started angular, then red berries and cream, then chalky apricots, then grapefruit, then smoky caramel.
