Tasted at The Chase in Toronto. They ran out of 2014 so they brought this vintage. Definitely young - not as tannic in the mouth as I thought it would have been when I first tasted without any decanting. Enjoyed over a lovely three hour meal with heirloom beets with dill purée and a chateaubriand - definitely better with food as it is quite acidic before opening up. Pleasant nose of blueberry and a hint of fresh cut spring grass undertone. Medium bodied and juicy. Definitely needs decanting for at least couple of hours. I think we enjoyed it more than it deserved because there is certain classical conditioning associated with great super Tuscan houses but if this was a blind tasting I wouldn’t have thought this was a super Tuscan on the first sip. It evolved nicely from there but definitely needs another 4-5 years.
