I understand why it’s called ‚slander‘ now. May wait a few years to drink the rest of the bottles, hopefully it will get better.

No formal tasting notes but great wine which will improve further with time.

Not too shabby after 3 hour decant. Relatively dark purple and/or deep red appearance, forest berries with a little candied fruit on the nose. A little thin on the pallet with a zippy acidity arch I am not fond of, but has decent length. All in all a decent wine but not my cup of tea, needs better structure overall but particularly with regard to weight and mouthfeel. May fair better with a steak but not, as in my case, in front of TV. Won’t improve through aging and I would not get the 2011 Echo again.

Like this wine a lot, even after only a short decant. Amarena cherry and spice on the nose. Great overall structure which will become more defined in the next years. Keeper! I got a few cases for the cellar.

This wine is drinkable now (march 2018), it shows nice signs of maturity. We had it with entrecôte, but you can also have it on its own. In the first 30 minutes after decanting we got strong berries with dark cherry and a little spice. After 30 minutes the flavours turned more into canned fruit bordering on Jam. About 1 hour after that, it became more masculine as tobacco, leather and very faintly cacao beans began to enter the scene. Nice long sugary tail. Nice and playful back and forth between fruits and leather etc. nothing to complain about at the price of Euro 59,95.
