I found this wine harsh. To my taste, it was far too much alcohol, which overpowered all of the other characteristics. Certainly it requires a good bit of airing to be palatable.

Fruit forward and fairly rich - reminds me quite a bit of the entry level Lewelling cab. Dark ruby fruit - currants, blackberry, dark cherry, and a little blueberry. Story time. I was at arrow and branch, having a lovely tasting with friends. And our host asked if we had ever had a better expression of the Dr. Crane vineyard. I reached into my wine bag and pulled out this bottle!

I hadn’t had it before. We opened it. Immediately, fuck, the nose is so slutty. Next, the alcohol hits you hard - it’s so hot on the nose. But the plush, hedonistic fruit can’t be stopped! There’s so much, a stark contrast to the A&B.

Overall, drink this stellar wine now. It’s not going to age for 10+ years.

Decanted for one hour on day one and it came across somewhat disjointed and a little tart/tannic with the finish. Revisited on day three and it improved quite a bit. Purple fruit - currants, blackberry, dark cherry, and some blueberry. Smooth mid-palate with solid depth/concentration. Nice flavors of dark berries, cassis, and some spice/licorice. Decent finish but not overly long nor deep, however, the tartness did subside. Like the 2019 Quivet Kenefick Ranch cab, I believe this wine was still in somewhat of a really youthful/barrel tasting phase late last year and now needs some time to develop. I’m going to lay the other bottles down until at least the end of the year. Nonetheless, a lot of promise in light of its showing on day three - 93 rating on day three. 100% cab.

Dark chocolate, vanilla, red and black cherries and plum on the nose. Light and fruity on the palate, especially for a Cabernet Sauvignon. Out of balance with overwhelming acidity. Short, bland finish. At this price point there are better options.

Just down right amazing. So much fruit, so smooth, so perfect. Drank next to a Caymus and my wife enjoyed this much more. Should have gotten more. Hope the 2017 is just as good.
