Fruit forward, concentrated and ripe with dark, blackberry fruit. Complex notes of tobacco, chocolate, cassis and graphite. Benefits from 30+ minute decant. Super soft tannins, almost silky and drinking VERY well right now. Will only get better with some more age.

1/30/22, 6:23 AM - I am a huge fan of this wine. After reviewing some of your highest rated wines I was surprised at our similar likes. Realm and Lewis are 2 of my favorites. It would appear I should checkout Larkmead. I have recently had 2018 Lewis Cab and 2014 Lewis Reserve Cab. Both are exceptional but the reserve had better grip while the 2018 would probably be more of a crowd pleaser. Today I will tackle a 2015 Bard for the NFL playoffs. Cheers.

Pulled a couple of Coravin glasses after an excellent Seavey Merlot for my first taste of the Tempest. Wow, this is a big, sultry wine. Thick, impenetrably dense dark red/purple. Tapenade and burnt incense aromas. On the palate is thick plum sauce, blueberry, chocolate ganache, with medium tannins permeating the long finish. This first Tempest has made more of an impression on me than my first Bard at this point. Let the fight for my affections commence :-)

2/15/20, 6:28 AM - I had the same exact experience. I tried the Bard for the first time in mid 2019 and it was good and easy to drink but didn't wow me and then I recently had the 2015 Tempest and it really impressed me.

This is a very soft but elegant merlot blend. I am very impressed with this wine and merlot lovers should buy a few bottles if not a case. if you don't like merlot you probably won't be a big fan. I like merlot but not as much as Cab. I think this is my favorite merlot blend in the States. This is drinkable today but will most likely get a little better in 2 to 3 years.

11/23/19, 2:08 PM - I probably should add that I haven't had too many high end merlots so this is the best one I have tried thus far. I just bought Pahlmeyer and I would like to try Kapcsandy.
