Shared this and a 2012 SoRho with friends over dinner. The 2014 was bright, smooth but did not have quite the depth or show all the range of dark fruits that the 2012 did. Still a lovely, very enjoyable wine.

Shared this and a 2014 Helix SoRo with friends over dinner. Has held up well. Bright nose, great smooth mouth and long finish. Was worried it would be past it’s prime but it was delightful and friends loved it.

On opening, emitted a funky odor that had me worried so let it air for a good hour. That helped and ithe nose was more pleasant. In the mouth, it had more dark berries and acidity than typical for 2008 Oregon Pinots we have opened recently. A nice wine but nothing notable.

Elegant wine that is drinking beautifully now. From moment we opened it, the nose forecast that was a well balanced wine. Great in the mouth and finish. None of the bitter notes others have mentioned. Kudos to Marcus on nurturing these Whistling Ridge grapes to their full potential.

As others have noted, this wine has ‘peaked’ and further aging is unlikely to bring out new qualities. It is pleasant in the moth, with subtle fruits, subdued tannins and peppery notes.

Perhaps a little past it’s prime. Tannins have resolved but less complexity on nose and in mouth than expect of this varietal from this area.

A beautiful if somewhat more masculine Pinot from Marcus Goodfellow that reflects the 2008 vintage and Bishop Creek origin of the grapes. Lovely nose, balanced mouth and smooth finish. Had with grilled King salmon and pairsed perfectly. Suspect this particular wine, like many from 2008, still has many years left if you have bottles in your cellar.

Probably let this bottle cellar too long. Was not spoiled, just had lost some of it’s typical complexity and the characteristic nose and finish.

A really lovely wine that is a terrific example that you can make a fine Syrah in the Willamette valley. This vintage, from a warm year, has aged beautifully. It was co-fermented with viognier. Dark fruits on the nose with balanced acidity and tannins in the mouth with black pepper, dark chocolate and fruits in the mouth. Opened up further over an hour. Glad I still have some more bottles
