12/29/23, 10:23 AM - Since I left this in the fridge after tasting a full glass with just a stopper in the bottle for a whole day before I drank the rest of the bottle it is difficult to suggest a time line to decant . Generally the time frame I gave this wine would be more than ample to open up and show more integration or finesse in the wine. Try one and double decant . Let me know if that worked. I will wait a couple more years or until I see more positive reviews . N. Bonaparte .... Hope that helps!
12/29/23, 1:18 PM - Let me know
2/2/24, 6:25 AM - thanks
1/25/24, 6:42 AM - Markricardo,Thank you. I will put a few aside for that time frame and try just to open one every couple of years if I can keep my hands off them
12/9/23, 6:11 AM - I don,t score generally .I would put this at 91/93
12/4/23, 6:50 AM - Clever!!!!!
12/4/23, 6:25 AM - 2002

7/10/23, 7:12 AM - NV = Non VintageI screwed upend forgot to scroll through and find the 2003 vintage for my note
7/8/23, 7:33 AM - Hi.It is tannic but approachable.Decanting definitely will help as the wine was awesome after being open for a day. As far as how long to decant I have no formula for you. sometimes I decant a bottle 2pm to serve at supper sometimes only an hour before. If it's still tight I vacuum and drink it the next day. Hope that helps!
7/8/23, 5:33 PM - Your welcome.I really like this wine and as a friend says ..This will be a killer wine in 10years!!!
7/8/23, 5:56 PM - Thanks… will gage my bottles over the next few years
7/8/23, 6:03 PM - Gauge
3/30/23, 8:43 AM - Richard,I see you opened a bottle. When would you open your next bottle?I opened a 2012 Chapoutier Ermitage Le Pavillon 2012which is drinking exceptionally well. One year apart with considerable offences in drinkability!
2/4/23, 2:43 PM - Palisades 57...I drank my bottles too early. If you do go ahead and open one do decant and wait an hour before serving. I found the last bottle I opened got better after each pour. I am keeping the remaining few bottles for at least 2 to 5 years before opening another bottle. Hope that helps. I find Pierre Amiot,s wines need at least 10 yrs to balance and start to shine.
1/27/23, 10:28 AM - Thanks..richard
7/16/22, 7:06 AM - Absolutely these will age well. I just enjoy them very much at this stage. I plan on keeping a few bottles and will open one in 3 years another in 5 depending on the tasting in 3years. I tend to drink my wines to early if I find them hitting my happy spot in flavour profile. There is always more wine!
5/2/22, 9:40 AM - Yes..Thank you! North portion of Volnay adjacent to the south border of Pommard
4/22/22, 5:32 PM - Yes … screwed up deleted the comment on the. Beaune! Thanks
4/23/22, 7:29 AM - I will try another bottle
4/23/22, 9:41 AM - I am not in NYC..In Canada. Will check my cellar to see if I have more bottles. If I do I will try another one and post a review. Will re check for my bitter note comment. Thanks
1/13/22, 9:02 AM - please let me know what your opinion is after you try a bottle!
1/13/22, 10:49 AM - Hi,PNP no decant. Saved half for the next day. Seems slightly hot more sweet fruit.
1/13/22, 3:09 PM - SARED,To me the alcohol was more pronounced the second day and I believe is helping elevate the intensity of the fruit flavours? This is an individuals perception and may not be what your palate tastes.
10/28/21, 3:55 PM - aajder,My experience with the Pierre Amiot wine is they need time. With you big format bottles they will even age longer. I have found Amit's wines to take at least 8 to 10 years to balance out and let the fruit component shine. They need just need time. Those bottles will reward you time
10/28/21, 7:28 PM - Sorry for my poorly worded reply.Yes I believe that if you let your wines age at least 8/10 yrs the wines will reward your patients .I tend to open one of Amiot,s wines the first year then another in two more years and then gauge when to open the next. Your big bottle format doesn’t lend to opening your bottles early. Best to just read other peoples notes over the next few years and decide when you want to open the bigger bottles . The longer the better.
10/12/21, 9:49 AM - Dajapino,This wine is drinkable young if you are OK with the very sappy raspberry flavoured pinot. I will wait and let the fruit balance out with my remaining bottles. I will open up another bottle in a year and see how it is evolving. I do feel this will age very well. It all depends on your tastes!
9/25/21, 12:02 PM - Thank you Bin707 for making me aware go my tasting note being posted by the WSJ wine writer! Appreciate you taking the time to do that.
8/19/21, 12:35 PM - Thank you
6/21/21, 2:37 PM - Thank you for the additional info on that wine.
4/23/21, 4:42 PM - Thanks.for the comment. I have not had much luck with my case of 2010 of this wine.I do enjoy this wine and have several vintages because I have had some exceptional wines from here.
5/28/21, 3:11 PM - Thanks for your comment
4/29/21, 3:10 PM - Excellent note..thank you
4/18/21, 5:03 PM - Your welcome
9/2/20, 7:44 PM - Thnaks
8/4/20, 12:02 PM - Your welcome
8/4/20, 7:38 AM - No I did not decant. Since the wine did improve as I poured each glass it would not be a bad idea to decant. Generally I drink the first bottle without decanting and save about a third to taste the next day
6/16/20, 3:48 PM - this revue is for the Beaune 1er Cru Reversees ..not the Pommard
5/23/20, 2:32 PM - 3 out of a 6 I tried where oxidized. Just posted my review on my last bottle
