It's tasty now, but it's got a good backbone to it. Anthony Yount calls it a baby with some bottle shock to wear off. I agree. Our first impression on taste was, wow, this is dominated by the Chard. After about two minutes in the glass, I smell pineapples. The wife says: "I knew it! I had pina coladas in my head." The wine seemed to kick our first impression out of the way in favor of a balanced blend with a slight lean toward the picpoul. Should be really interesting to see how this develops over time. No use rating it yet, but if you forced my hand it would be in the 91-93 range.

A bit pricey, but a great wine nonetheless. Very smooth, nose of apples and pears. Well-balanced. One of the best California Sauvignon Blancs - an equal or close second to the Merry Edwards offering for my taste.

Your classic white for a spring or summer afternoon/evening on the porch with Jimmy Buffett tunes in the background. This evening, it was a nice pairing with baked salmon. Nose of flowers and fresh herbs. Acidity is present, particularly in the front of the palate, but far from overbearing. A mellow and smooth wine. Young but drinking nicely now, and at $25 the QPR is right in my book. Looking forward to opening more later in the spring and into the summer. My thanks to David Stevens for recommending I try a bottle.
