I had this (pretty sure) a few weeks ago and thought it was rich and delicious dark cherry, so I was disappointed with this bottle because it seemed thinner and I eventually came to the conclusion that had a nose and especially a finish of blue cheese. The wine still seemed decent in every other way and my wife, who is not a big wine drinker, thought it was fine. I disliked it for the blue cheese funk.

Smooth, creamy, off dry with only a hint of tin/mineral.

Tobacco, leather, and dark cherry. Well integrated tannins.

Buttery oak, just like I like them, and none of that tin/mineral taste.

Nice white, floral nose, crisp not metallic, fruit pear and white grape, not sweet or dry.

Big fruit, easy drink, but not a fan of the sour cherry finish. Also, I'm not sure if this is good or bad, but there was a lot of sediment at the bottom and at least half of the empty bottle had a film of red sediment on it.

smell: wine cellar; taste: some berry but mostly alcohol

Nice. smell: some dark cherry and hint of raisin, taste: a bit of fruit, alcohol but not hot, med-full body, well integrated tanins, nice lingering finish. Much better than a 2/23/09 tasting which smelled like a wine cellar and tasted mostly of alcohol.

Very nice, would definitely buy again at $17. Medium body, slightly dry, and slightly hot but very drinkable. We had this before dinner with a cheese and sausage queso and white corn chips.
