2015 Château Rousselle Prestige Côtes de Bourg Red Bordeaux Blend
The wine is deep garnet at the core and medium garnet at the rim. The wine is opaque wit fine sediment and high viscosity. 14 % alcohol.
On the nose I smelled anise, plum, sour cherry, minerality, nutmeg, earl grey tea and spice.

On the palate the wine was dry, medium tannin and high acid and the finish was short. It is generally flat and not well balanced. I tasted cherry and minerals. The acid was too high for me to discern other flavours.

I found that chocolate pulls out the fruit flavour and the hard cheese softens the acid.

This is a great every day wine. It is very well priced at $20 Canadian.
The wine was ruby red at the core and lighter at the rim. It was clear with no sediment and opaque.
The viscosity was low and Alex was 13.5%
On the nose I smelled cherry, leather and dirt and the intensity was medium.
On the palate I tasted plum, cherry, leather and tobacco. It had med tannins and acid and med high alcohol. It was dry and had medium body and was semi smooth.
This wine is predominantly made from Sangiovese grapes but also has some cab, Merlot and Syrah. It is a drink now wine but could stay in the bottle for a few more years.
I am going to go and buy a case !

The wine was deep purple at the core and lighter at the rim. It had no sediment and high viscosity. Alcohol was 14 %
On the nose the wine was medium intensity with notes of sweet tobacco, molasses, prunes, anise, blackberries and dark cherry.
On the palate the wine was medium to high tannins with medium acid and alcohol. I tasted black tea, tobacco and dark cherry. The wine was smooth with a medium to long finish . It could use many more years in the bottle!

10/5/20, 8:27 PM - I decanted for an hour. I think it still needs a 3-5 more years in the bottle and I don’t think decanting it for a longer period would give the same results. It was still a great wine to drink, time will only make it better.

Appearance: Colour is ruby with a pale rim. No sediment. Not a ton of legs and 13% alcohol.

Nose: Good condition. Medium intensity. Anise. Red fruits—maybe cranberry or sour cherries. Light espresso.

Palate: High acid, medium tannin. Flavours similar to nose: anise, sour cherries, maybe some tree bark. Okay table wine, though it's a little on the flat side. No lingering finish, no real complexity.

Pairing: We're pairing it with Dominos pizza which seems appropriate. Would also pair with a light pasta—pesto or meatless tomato sauce. Would be flabby with heavier, meatier meals.

Second day update: Preserved sour cherry notes are stronger. Cured meats on the nose, and maybe some pencil lead. Smoother and less sour. Definitely improved. Would open and air for an hour or two before drinking if we ever have this wine again.
