This is an exceptional wine it matches the price (125$)
Lovely earthy nose , makes for anticipation that I can hardly wait
The palate was dark cherry and you know yummy
It is a sophisticated taste

We tasted 3 Pinots all 2020
Mill road block 2
Mill road home block
Corcelettes
We started with the corcelettes because at 30$ it’s cheaper than the mill roads at $50
There was 6 of us everyone said the corcelettes was good it had a earthy nose fairly fruity palette and the finish was enjoyable but not notable
Then we tried the block 2. It was more intense earthy nose than the corcelettes and the palette was more sophisticated and drier . It is lighter in color than the corcelettes. The finish was delightful it lingered
The 3rd was mill road home block and it was definitely voted the best
From the nose that was more full and powerful than the block 2 from mill road . Once on the palate our group was finding a notch above the other 2 and the finish was grand
It was a hot day 28c my wife made pizza in our
wood fired oven

Pinot noir is my go to wine but I really enjoyed these . The home block Pinot was gone first , then the block 2 followed by the corcelettes

We compared this with a poplar grove legacy 2016. Similar nose but the Legacy was less fruit forward without the sweet but quite complex pallet and the finish was very good. Fun to compare

I opened this after supper about an hour decante
It sips ok
There is nothing exciting on the nose kinda flat
Rather fruity body black cherry and enjoyable drying out the pallet I feel the acidic is low. The finish is nice I run my tongue on the roof of my mouth to enjoy the finish
For a cab sav it is not big and bold more like a distant cousin of cab sav
Day 2. Better nose well a little earthy
However the bright fruity palate is gone rather subtle tonight and the finish is good dry and lingers

I buy a couple every yr and have not been disappointed
It is really good wine

Nose is fruity not earthy
Body is dark cherry full bodied red
Finish is light subtle doesn’t linger but enjoyable

the black hills was like an explosion of flavor big and bright while the poplar grove was more subtle
the finish on the poplar grove lingered a little longer and was more desireable than the black hills. They did not dry out my mouth but had me desiring more
