N.V. Sami-Odi Shiraz Little Wine #10 Barossa
I still derive little personal enjoyment from this wine despite its multifacets of great things: super, complex nose, very intense dark fruits, bold, especially in its chewy, blocky, tannic structure. A wine of contemplation: each tiny sip floods the mouth with flavour. Yet somehow, it feels a bit angular to me.

9/3/21, 2:37 AM - Needs air... presents much better a few days after... but there is still a very intense spicy blackcurrant pastille character which is not to my preferences.

2020 Agricola Vintners Flaxman Valley Eden Valley Shiraz, Syrah
Expensive for what it is. Interesting nose: Smokey herbs and twigs. Light bodied, does have some complexity, and a fairly long, if not terribly rich finish, but it also comes across as being a touch unfinished and 'natural'.

8/16/21, 8:26 PM - I hope that it does as it is perfumed and excites the olfactory senses. Had remainder of bottle last night and still think it rather anemic. Unfortunately I do not think it will gain much with time, but time is not going to make it less interesting so there is no harm in holding.
