OK - so it wasn't consistent from nose through finish. But, it was a solid representation of what Cab Sav can be from Argentina - good nose of pencil shavings and dark fruit with a solid roundness in the mouth. However, i agree that there was a little lacking in the mid-palate with a short finish. hey, its reasonably priced and might have gone well with my pork tenderloin if I hadn't marinaded it in maple syrup and thyme.
This is a stand around and talk wine - not a supper wine.

The alcohol on this wine is slightly less intrusive than the isopropyl alcohol in Listerine. I had no idea that yeast existed that could handle pushing Chardonnay based wine past 15 percent, much less 15.5 percent. What lies behind this formidible layer of heat is a rich mouthfull of vanillin and butter, reminiscient of Miner chardonnay. That is, to say that this wine is indeed not only too alcoholic for my liking but also far, far to masked and covered up in the swaddling and plush clothing of an oak barrel. No way I touch this wine again.
