This is a simple wine with blackberries, oak, and a hint of cherry and chocolate.
Strong tannins and aggressive acidity
A good full-bodied wine that will pair well with red meat.

Blueberries, currant, earth on the nose.
On the palate raspberries, grapefruit , cherry hard candy
Lighter body than Martha's Vineyard or the Napa Heitz.

I was surprised by this. Pleasantly noticeable tannins, strong acidity Of course, this is good, and it's exactly what you would expect from a great California Cabernet Sauvignon

6/18/23, 10:11 AM - You could probably go either way but it is definitely lighter in body or structure than the regular Napa or Martha's vineyard so I'm not sure how it would hold up to very long cellaring

Red
2014 Château Malescot St. Exupéry Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend
Medium garnet color
Musty forest and oak on the nose
On the palate prune, cranberry, blackberries, licorice
High acidity and smooth tannins

3/19/23, 2:19 PM - Yes... this was the second wine of the tasting. We probably decanted it for about 40min

3/19/23, 6:58 PM - I think 2 hours wouldn't hurt. We were moving through the wines for this tasting, and we enjoyed it. But 2 hours should be plenty of time for it to fully open.
