2014 Trader Joe's Zinfandel Reserve Dry Creek Valley

I rolled the dice on this and found it to be a pretty impressive zinfandel. Translucent ruby in color, it has a nice nose of dusty Dry Creek spice. Medium-bodied and rich with a decent finish. Here in TN (where everything is more expensive), it's $9.99 a bottle which is a great deal. I'm sure it's priced lower in other markets, making it a steal in my opinion.

9/16/17, 7:53 AM - Unlike with their other exclusive labels, TJ's seems to keep their reserve, grand reserve, and platinum reserve prices consistent across the country. Someone on the west coast can correct me if I'm wrong, but this wine is likely $9.99 everywhere, with TJ's presumably taking a smaller markup in TN.

2013 Jacques Bourguignon Chablis Chardonnay

over-oaked, heavy, thick. Not a lot of malolactic creaminess. Tastes like a California chardonnay, not a Chablis. I almost returned it to the store. Label says "mis en bouteille en region de production..." but not necessarily Chablis.

2010 Incanto Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Sangiovese

I used to drink cheap Montepulciano and acquired taste to its specific smell of fusty cellar (or you can think of some cheeses) and slightly fizzy feel. Vino nobile is certainly more noble - or at least refined, and smell is gone (for better or for worse) making it more traditional and common wine from center of Italy. I would classify it as good, refined table wine, very well paired with pizza.
