1980 Michel Magnien Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir
A really good showing. The nose has decaying leaves, smoke, some brown sugar and violets. The palate has a suggestion of something red. It is very fine and lacy, with a vinous and sweet core. It is cool and stony, only mid-weight at best but beautifully balanced and elegance personified.
