Unsure of this wine but didn’t really enjoy it nonetheless. If anything if needs aging, hold it for another 3 years

What a pleasant surprise. This was my first Italian Merlot and it was delicious despite some of the ratings I reviewed. This is a great change of pace with notes of gravel, limestone, leather, pencil shavings, wild shrooms and black cherry. Decanted for an hour I really enjoyed the uniqueness of this wine given my palate generally gravitates to Napa. Looking forward to a vertical comparison with a back to back tasting of the 2016

Nose for days this wine smells of chocolate and prunes. Classic Italian earth dirt, the 2012 is at an optimal drinking time with lots of room for aging. Tasting notes of all the cherries, figs and tobacco leaves the flacc also comes complete with a long and elegant finish. I am so happy I got the chance to drink it in this state. Wish I had more of these to try yoy!

Couldn’t have opened this at a better time! The nose is interesting with white flower and cotton candy But when you actually taste it I got notes of citrus, notably tangerine peel, and green apple. This has both sharp acidity but with a long elegant finish on the backend. The complexity yet refined taste makes this a great choice for any occasion. May open this again for NYE to start the year off strong.

A deep and intense wine with notes of oak, dark cherry, chocolate, espresso and crushed rock, this bad boy is ready to drink. Be prepared for a wild ride because this monster is bold and tannic but somehow presents the most elegant long finish. Nothing short of impressive from Carter wines generally but La Bam is at an optimal drinking time. Opportunity to drink now or let it sit for another few.

Decanted for a half hour, this beauty was ready to drink. Notes of cassis, bell pepper (on the nose), raspberry, black cherry and warm Christmas spices, don’t be afraid to crack it now and enjoy it at this stage of its life. I have a few other bottles so looking forward to seeing how this evolves over time.

Decanted for 2 hours, this wine was so elegant from STF! Hints of tobacco, dark fruit, anise and earth dirt the 2015 did not disappoint and would drink this all day every day. Excited to see how this evolves over time but YOLO drink it now!

Carter is always a go-to and never disappoints. The Hossfeld is deep and rich with big tannins and notes of dark raspberry, pencil shavings and hint of cedar and chocolate. Decanted for an hour and a half, this is a big beauty that you can drink now or hold for years to come.

Decanted for an hour. Acidic, with rustic tannins. Was expecting a more elegant finish. Not an optimal drinking time. Either I missed the window or it needs a lot more time. If you do decide to open and see where’s it at I recommend with pasta or truffle cheese to cut it. Overall love Conti but will save opening up these bottles for another few years.
