I found this champagne to actually stand up better when it was allowed to breathe for about an hour. The high acidic smell picked up when it was first opened died off quickly when allowed to sit. Toasted biscuits and honey on the nose, on the palate you pick up a lot of butter and floral essence. This was my first serious tasting of a champagne and I was overall impressed with the power of it.

Listed on wine enthusiasts top values for 2009. The wine has a nice pure ruby color that doesn't give anything away on the edges. Found it to be a little tight on the nose but did pick up hints of black fruit and spice. After decanting the wine for a bit the spice notes translated to palate with a nice tart feeling on the mid palate. Nice smooth wine from beginning to end makes this a good wine for a great deal.

A perfectly balanced Michigan chardonnay. An amazing suprise from this small winery. On the nose you get reminded of a cider mill with the caramel apples and crushed nut elements. On the pallet you get nice buttery smooth feel getting hints of french oak and apple. The finish is incredibly smooth and wants you to go for that second glass. Paired quite well with a 46% cacao chocolate and was a hit with wine amateurs and enthusiasts.

Excellent quality red table wine. Another great find on a lake Michigan shore wine trail weekend. On the nose you pick up hints of candied fruit along with cranberry. On the palate you pick up a bit of acidity from it being from a cool climate. The tannins are nice giving flavors of cranberry and grapefruit. The wine is good by itself but I think it needs a food pairing for it to show its true potential. Has a nice full finish that leaves you with a slight graphite component along with the tart grapefruit.

What an incredible surprise from this small production winery. The winery only produces about 2200 cases of wine each year. The wine is rich dark ruby in color giving an insight to the concentration. With just the few drops that were poured into the tasting room glass you could get a full spectrum of flavors and aromas. On the nose you get hints of bright fruit, a chocolate dust, cherries, and mocha. On the palate you get a full bodied brilliant fruit and dark chocolate taste. The finish was long lasting and stayed with me till I arrived at the next winery.

Incredibly pleased by the quality of this Michigan blended wine. A wine dark ruby in color with rich red fruit and spice on the nose. Silky smooth in the mouth with hints of vanilla and black currant with a long full finish. This is an excellent table wine that would pair great with pasta, pizza, or grilled hamburgers.

Props to michigan winery owners. On the nose you get a sampling of minerality and some white fruit, it falls off the back end a bit quick that effects its overall score. The $16 pricepoint might be a turn off to some but I am a big fan of buying local and that comes with a price. I could definetly describe this wine as a strong second bottle of wine for an evening.

Almost hit your nose like a sparkling wine with the bright pear and jonamac apple. This was my first serious tasting of a michigan wine and I was very much impressed. I immediatly thought this as a family get togethor or holiday wine because of its light acidity and drinkability.
