Tasting note
Bright yellow with green hues, spicy scent of dried herbs and yarrow, apple fruit increases with air; juicy and salty, piquant acidity with delicate melt, soybean sprouts, dried apple wedges with candied ginger, discreet aromas, compact body, complex with character.

Description
The 2019 Grower’s Blend Orange Wine is robust with notes of bruised apple, juniper and dried orange peel. The tannins are firm but very approachable. The finish is crisp and refreshing.

Winemaking Notes
“Orange Wine” is a white wine that is made by leaving the grape skins and seeds in contact with the juice which creates an orange hue to the wine. These wines are often dry and bold with tannins and hints of sourness (think fruit beer!).

2019 Growers Blend Skin Fermented Pinot Gris – Rick Vansickle (Wines in Niagara)
By vicki smyth | Reviews
Rick’s Score: 89/100

This orange wine is a 100% skin fermented Pinot Gris with an interesting nose of Mandarin orange, marmalade, peach pie, ginger and earthy notes. It’s completely dry on the palate with a subtle reductive note, underlying earthiness then juicy nectarine, compoted peaches, citrus rind, marzipan and marmalade and a brisk finish.

Reports said drink by 2009- but this was still great with nice dark fruit nose and berry, chocolate palate. Only sign of age was that it lost some taste after a couple hours.

Aging very nicely. A classic Lailey with gentle tannins and ballanced fruit on the nose and palate

all 3 bottles were bad. Would say "corked" except they do not use cork in their bottles

Like many of the other Lailey wines in my collection this one is quite good even a year or two after its expected drink-by date.

This is still drinking well (sources said drink by 2011). Full bodied with a bit of buttery aftertaste.

following the RParker review this was consumed over 2 days. Day 1 had heavyish tannins and spicier bouquet and taste. Evolved over 4 hours. Was stored overnight then decanted next day and finished about 30 hours after initially being opened. Softened tannins, fruit bouquet developed, earthier on palate. Will repeat in a year or two.

very strong tannins, deep colour, not much nose. No lenght. I really think this is just too young to drink despite some ratings sayin it is ready now. POssibly a bad bottle- I have a few more so maybe might open one and see if it is the same. Will try again in a few years

Excellent- aging well. Decanted for 3 hours which was a bit too long. About 1-2 hours may be optiml at this age.

blackberry, red fruit, with an oaky nose and medium length. Better than when last tasted over 3 years ago. Mayimporve over the next year or so.

this was superb, much better than the previous bottle I had of the same vintage before. Subtle spices, dark fruit, not too impressive bouquet, but excellent length and soft tannins. Kept improving even after being open for 3+ hours. A real hidden gem of a vineyard. Unfortunately my last bottle of this and likley no more to be found anywhere.

great as a chilled aperitif. Not bad either at the end of the evening with blue cheese. Even non-Port drinkers liked it. SUbtle sweetness with fruity undertones.

superb. decanted for over 3 hours before first taste. Initially strong fruits dominated (cherry, blackberry mainly) with some spiciness in bouquet and palate. Then a few hours later the tannins were more noticeable and also some nice chocolate overtones. Wanted to taste it the next day too- but it didn't last long enough.

nose of dark berries, coffee. Fruit, mild oak, soft tannins. Amazingly smooth and great length considering its youth. Can't wait to try it again in a few years

Improved after being open for about an hour.Leather, cherry aroma. Palate of black currant, cherry, some spice on the finish. Nice body and decent finish. I have it on good authority it can age well over 10+years. Have 1 bottle left so I will let you know in a few years.
