Outstanding. Excellent value comparing to e.g. Leflaive.

Opened four hours before dinner. At opening tannins and little resemblance of Bordeaux. At dinner still not impressive, but after another 2-3 hours, it started opening up showing its legacy.

A disappointing experience. First bottle was corked and second bottle had seen it's prime. Having had four bottles, flawed or not memorable, my recommendation is to drink sooner rather than later.

Classic Bordeaux with nice tones of cedar wood and leather. Very easy to drink, but with a short finish. Will keep a few bottles to see how it evolve.

Decanted for 2.5 hours. Tasted with Mas Doix 2005. Clearly the PS has a lot less acidity than the Mas Doix. PS is structured, complex and has given up some of the fruit; there is still plenty notes of dark berries. It is fresh and should age very well. I would give it min. 5 years before tasting again. Dramatically better than the hot PS 2003.

Overpowering wine with little finesse. Not my taste in wine, although others praise it highly (incl World of Fine Wine).

Tones of leather, spices and earth in the nose. Soft tannins and flavors of cherry and leather. I like my wines mature and this '97 has a fine balance between fruit, oak and tones of leather. Good value for money.

An outstanding wine. Quite feminine and with the complexity of the best Spanish wines. The bouquet reveals spices and cedar. Tannins are pleasant, soft, well integrated and with a good length. This is an excellent Rioja and I am pleased that I have saved more of my 2001's for now. It should keep well a decade.

Drank the bottle over two days. Initially very closed and uninspiring, better on second day. Quite tannic and appears ruby with medium/full body with a 30 second finish. Would benefit from at least 2-4 years of cellaring.

The Calvario 2005 is a great wine, but is not ready for drinking. It has plenty of structure and complexity and will age beautifully. It is a full body wine, appears dark purple in the glass and has a long finish. Give it 2-4 years before trying again. Disagree with prior reviews of this wine.
