January 15, 2024 - Still tastes great, bottle
Open for an hour before pouring, the oak notes were strong, enough to give it very similar tastes to a whiskey, the dark fruits came out nicely.

February 12, 2018 - Dinner at Osteria Langhe (Chicago, IL): Corked.

August 9, 2014 - An Isole e Olena Tasting (1997, 2007 Mg, 2008) at the Amsterdam Wine Fair 2011, first at all I was not really convinced from all of the them, the 2009 is much better (91). the oldest one was the best for me, the fruit is a little bit lacking, some cherry jam, some wood, soft and rounded tannins with well integrated alcohol, middlelong finish, I guess at his peak from now to the next 5 years

July 10, 2014 - Wine Education Service - Italy - Tuscany (Imperial College): Translucent, only a hint of age.
A bouquet recalling the fruits of summer pudding, slightly leathery.
Fabulous fruity attack, very soft tannins, could be drunk on its own, wonderful balance, very very long, will repay keeping longer.

June 18, 2012 - The aroma has a little compost mixing it up with sour cherry and espresso notes. It is sweet and full in the mouth with exquisite balance and nice detail.
