December 2, 2018 - Deep purple, the nose is chock full of blackberry and black cherry, a bit of bramble, and a touch of leather. Nice dark fruit with good structure and balance. Some secondary characteristics are just beginning to show through. There is a fresh, yet lingering finish. This wine doesn’t disappoint. It is drinking great right now and in my opinion is not likely to improve.

October 29, 2017 - Wonderful color, nice berry nose. Good fruit but not over the top, medium body with nice balance. Fruity finish lingers and dries slightly.

July 21, 2016 - This wine was uncorked tonight. Showed a little bit of age on the nose and throughout the experience, but definitely tells its own story. This is a youthful, spicy, and darker story. But, the story of a wine that likely once had an immense amount of fruit. Cork withdrawn to ZERO bleed. The wine was poured a dark red with slight purple hue. Frothy. The nose was gingerbread cookie, blackberry, vanilla, and some earth. A hint of age. The wine took about 30 minutes to breathe. But when it did, oh mama. The entry was complex - everything from funeral flowers to fresh picked roses, old meets new. Blackberry, vanilla, cinnamon spice. The wine still had good acidity, but was really quite intense in the middle where this one seems to condense down and shows a cola note and some green stalk/stem character (which is actually welcomed). The wine had a little more floral, a little bit of cobweb. The finish is where this one showed cinnamon and red-hot spice. I was a little afraid that I was going to get some sediment (as it was on the neck of the bottle) but it managed to stay there! Good black and somewhat earthy fruits on the finish. I don't know if I agree with this one being "done" by the end of this week, but it does appear to be on the very slight decline. I think it'll probably take it 2-3 years to get there, but if you want a 100% youthful and bright presentation of cab, you missed this wine by probably 2 years. Drink now with 30 minute decant!
