Community Tasting Notes 6

November 16, 2014 - Dark red. Rich nose filled with black raspberry, mocha, cassis and stone. Palate in rich and sweet with tannins nicely integrated. Blind, I am not sure what I would have thought this was. There was a powerful oak influence and the wine was big. It did seem to have some age on it. I might have picked this as a Spanish wine with lots of American oak. This was not a Pinot shooting to be mistaken for something from Burgundy. Really good wine. No way I would kick it out of bed but also not what I hope will end up in my glass.

March 11, 2012 - Dark red core, slight lightening but no bricking at rim. Nice nose of cherries, strawberries, smoke, spice. Medium-full body, lush mouthfeel, ripe fruit, moderate complexity with earthy notes, mostly resolved tannins, medium-long finsh. Outstanding.

March 7, 2011 - Coffee, earth, black raspberries and jammy strawberries led into a richly textured, deep wine with silky textures. The finish ended with jammy red and black fruits, espresso and hints of citrus oil.

July 3, 2007 - Excellent wine. It had a slight amber edge showing a bit of its age. Tannins are mostly resolved with a wonderful taste of cherries, smoky notes and spice.

January 6, 2007 - Sampled in a large tasting, which I'm sure hampered it's showing... but my overall impression was "just OK".
