Community Tasting Notes 20

January 28, 2014 - Popped and poured from a 375ml bottle my wife got as a gift. Generic bourgogne from a big negociant. Clear maroon colour. Initial nose of red fruits, cherries and raspberries gave way to a mild musty odour. Weak and thin on the palate, with slight bitter stems tasted. Didn't like the sour note towards the finish. High acidity.

June 23, 2013 - Not bad for a generic bourgogne from a negociant. The smell was much better than the palate. The nose was classic aged pinot aromas of forest floor and cherries. However, the palate was thin and I found it just too sour.

December 27, 2012 - Nice nose of strawberry jam and raspberry. Rather weak sensation on the palate, fruit without much more. Nice tannins and smooth with unimpressive length. Ok for a casual glass with some chocolates or almonds.

October 4, 2012 - This is truly better French wine. Enjoy. Caramel edge round brick red and nice berry fruit.

(Faiveley Pinot Noir Bourgogne) Light medium red color with 2 millimeter clear meniscus; tart cherry, strawberry, sous bois nose; tart red fruit, sous bois palate with near medium acidity, on a fast aging track; medium finish
