Community Tasting Notes 4

February 28, 2014 - Bright yellow color. Aromas of apple, pear, nutmeg, and a hint of lemon. Palate has spiced apple, pear, vanilla floral elements, and a lemony medium-length finish. This is going strong and shows the ripeness of the vintage without the signs of oxidation that the Arthur seems to be showing. Drink or hold.

May 21, 2011 - Limes and green apples show on the nose along with popcorn butter from some the oak. This works well with the fruit, and the nose is big and enjoyable. Lime flavors show themselves up front, and they persist through the entire experience. The green apple flavors sit at the front of the tongue. The oak is round and rich, starting small on the finish and slowly rising up to contribute fully. The acidity dries things out late while all of the flavors persist for a good length of time.

March 6, 2011 - I was served this blind. My thoughts were that this was very young, full bodied, lots of oak, full malo, rich and etc. Maybe not for everybody but this had great balance and should get even better after it has some time to age. Unlike some chardonnays made in this style, there was no heat. The alcohol was firmly in check. Not a chardonnay I would go to every day but I thought this was a heck of a wine.
