March 18, 2016 - Stil oaky after all these years...

October 11, 2012 - Not as impressive as the first bottle. Still a nice bottle, good QPR, but more subdued flavors.

November 10, 2011 - Jay Miller's notes of "Purple-colored, the wine has an excellent perfume of toasty oak, pencil lead, mineral, and blackberry. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied, firm wine with enough structure to permit 3-4 years of further evolution. It is nicely balanced by a broad band of ripe, spicy fruit leading to a 30-second finish." are spot on. I'd add that it has slightly mouth drying tannins (which I love!) and it's beautifully balanced. As of this tasting (11/10/11) it needs a couple of hours to open up. The first hour it was out of balance and was showing too much acid, but as time passed, the gorgeous black fruits came out. At $15, I wish I bought at least a case of this.

December 24, 2010 - Cinnamon and spice aspects on sun-dried fruit; acid plus tannins equals some years left here; aromatics are spare on this though. 50/5/10/16/8

June 26, 2010 - A nose of tar and dark fruit, dark purple in color. Medium to full bodied, very very dry, blackberry, tar, spice and oak, was just ok, decant.
