May 6, 2011 - Old Nebbiolo at Tolani (Upper West Side, NYC): The nose showed floral undergrowth with strawberry and spice. On the palate, it showed dried red berries with a dusting of minerals and earth, along with a fine structure that should keep it fresh for many years to come. The finish was drying with tannins that are still holding on to this wine’s red berry fruit.

May 6, 2011 - Old Nebbiolo at Tolani (Upper West Side, NYC): Deep ruby color. Complex, changing nose. Opened quite vegetal, with elements of bell pepper and onion, but within fifteen minutes or so changed to red fruit, rose petal and savory spice. Medium bodied and flavorful on the palate.

November 13, 2010 - Medium garnet color, orangy rim. Complex, very pretty nose of beef broth, pencil lead, iron, truffle and mushroom. There's also a very definite sweet topnote of red berries and rose petals. Pine needle as well. On the palate it's medium bodied with resolved tannins, delicate with notes of sweet dried flowers and good acidity. Really fine aged Nebbiolo.
