August 8, 2016 - Opened and stood in the cellar for about 2 hours. Paired with a pan seared ribeye it was firing on all cylinders. Very dark garnet in color with a nice fruit nose, some spice and wood but being that it was 48 month in the barrel the wood was not over whelming at all. Fruit was still in the forefront but very well balanced with good acidity and a decent amount of tannins with a nice long finish. If there is a negative to this wine it is the high alcohol (15.5%) which still gives it a little heat. Overall an extremely nice bottle.

December 2, 2015 - Opened for two hours. Not decanted. Very dark color, with fragrance of black cassis. Very pleasurable.

July 13, 2014 - WOTY thus far. Took to a local restaurant - but decanted for a couple of hours prior to. That made a huge difference. The wine is dark purple/inky colored. It is a powerhouse for sure but showed great balance and just got better and better. Easily the greatest Booker I have had to date. I have one more left - I will wait another year for a special occasion....

August 11, 2013 - This wine is drinking great right now. It was smooth right after opening and the everything was in synk. Simply delicious.

February 20, 2011 - The Alchemist was stunning! We decanted it for about 1.5 hours before pouring. It was a lovely, "gentle" Rhone that was filled with fruit and a hint of pepper. It went extremely well with pan seared steak (with a dried porcini mushroom, rosemary, and black pepper rub)!
