August 28, 2009 - I've aged this for a few years and finally decided it was that time. At first I thought I waited too long, but after an hour or so it really started to come around. Pear, honey, spices and a healthy dose of oak on the nose and while I'm no expert I get apple, tropical fruit flavors, oak on the palate with moderate acidity and minerality. It's golden in color and has a really rich, almost oily texture. Way, way different and bigger than any other pinot grigio I've had. Wish I had more. I could actually see this lasting another couple of years.
