De la tenue, mais pas beaucoup de peps, et ce à tout niveaux.
La teinte est assez sombre et opaque pour un pinot, peu de brillance, une matière assez dense; puis quand on met le nez dedans, je le trouve fatigué, terne, ennuyeux. La maturité du millesime dirige l’aromatique vers la mûre, un cassis un peu oxydé, des épices et du sous-bois. Pas très folichon!
En bouche, il reprend vie, la structure est vaillante, petits tanins et acidité le tiennent en eveil, mais il dégage peu de parfums… comme souvent a chaque fois que je bois un vin du domaine. -

February 4, 2018 - Good Wine with an Exciting Super Bowl (Chez Kailin - Northbrook IL): Small glass, brief note. Very ripe and concentrated in an ultra ripe style. Easily could have been mistaken for Syrah.

February 4, 2018 - Wines tasted during Super Bowl LII (Chez Kailin): Tasty, for sure, but showing '03 character with very rich and almost roasted black cherry fruit. While I like the unabashed Gevrey meatiness and rich fruit, this is a bit clumsy and inelegant. I'd probably drink up as it isn't getting better from here.
