Community Tasting Notes 3

March 10, 2012 - Tasted non-blind at a wine dinner. The nose is dominated by bananas (think banana laffy taffy) with a hint of sour tropical fruit. On the palate it has buttery pineapple and more bananas with an overlay of vanilla. While it isn't oaky, it certainly received quite a bit of oak treatment. The finish is very short with mostly sour butter notes. Surprisingly light bodied but seems a bit flabby.

April 2, 2011 - Nice fresh crisp "modern-style" chardonnay. Thin to medium body in the mouth, some oak, but not overbearing, not too much butter. Good value.

January 10, 2011 - This was a K&L Club Selection. I think this wine may be intended for people who don't typically drink wine. Totally unconstrained, it has a buttery nose and a glycerin-like mouthfeel. Flavors are all over the place. I am surprised the alc. is only 13.5%.
