December 1, 2023 - This showed beautifully, with fully resolved, highly aromatic, silky and graceful red fruit. Could only be Burgundy. Maume has a reputation for rusticity but this was elegant and lovely.

February 19, 2023 - Really a lovely bottle. Mine had a more elegant, floral, and red fruited bouquet than I was expecting, one of those wines that I was constantly breathing in. The palate was complex, perhaps not all in focus, but a good middleweight

February 23, 2022 - Very gevrey/meaty. Dray, savoury and really good.

August 12, 2021 - Served alongside the '99 and '06. This was my favorite of the group. red and black fruits. meat, some game. Tannins resolved. Good balance. nice finish

    October 23, 2020 - 2/3, decent cork.
Pale/medium garnet core, wide pale garnet rim. Noble fruit on the nose, red and black with a touch of meat and game. Quite youthful still. Medium bodied, cool darkish fruit, meaty nd gamey again, resolved tannins, now quite elegant, fresh acidity, very good length harmonious finish. Excellent, drinking beautifully, no particular hurry - good for at least another 5 years.

Burgundy-Report

    4/1/2008 (link)

(Maume Mazis-Chambertin) A shade lighter in colour and more of a ruby-colour. No toast aromas this time, but a wide profile of red and black fruits that are shaded more to the red versus the 2002. The fruit and tannins are a little less ripe than the 02, in particular the tannins - but they are far from green astringency! The fruit flavour is more obvious in the mid-palate and finish when contrasted to the 2002. Nice, but don’t pair it with a much riper wine.
