May 1, 2014 - Russk. Hitting me as sappy this time.

  • henrygjeffreys Likes this wine:

    April 19, 2014 - Pigeoulet de Brunier
    beautiful bright red colour
smells of red cherries, spices and baked earth also something floral
    medium body
    gentle tannins, leathery
    very mellow
not hugely complex but very enjoyable
probably slightly over its peak now.

December 29, 2013 - RUSSK. Drank with Rachel and John. So easy drinking. Crowd pleaser. PoP. Buy some.

December 27, 2012 - Michael & Nicki gave me this wine at Xmas 2012 as a reminder to our love of the visit to Provence. Loved the body, rich and smooth character. The way I remembered Provence reds .

August 30, 2012 - I'm going to spread some bold faced utterances here. Kermit Lynch, through my exposure to his wines, is as consistent as Rickey Henderson in his prime...and, factually, more so. The man flat delivers at high levels at modest prices. This wine continued to build in appeal during our meal tonight at Garces Trading. I dined with 2 colleagues and we had a NY white on the table (very nice starter), Kermit and a much more expensive Aradian Syrah from Cali. I didn't share much background on the wines but the behavior was telltale. On the red side, everyone reached for this bottle disproportionately. Great balance, bright, easy to match with food. Just. Plain. Money. Rickey would be proud.
