  December 29, 2020 - Third virtual CdP wine tasting (non-blind). (Zoom): Wine 4 of 4. Weird, perfumed/chemical nose, feels like I am back at the internship I did more than 30 years ago at the chemical lab of a paper factory. Concentrated dark fruit, intense herbal notes, pastille, spices, anise and liquorice on the palate, with supporting acidity, ripe, well-integrated tannin and very good length. Very ripe, dark and concentrated, but the wine handles the high alcohol quite well.
  
  By day two, however, the fruit profile turns more raisiny and while the wine still is fairly smoothly textured, it has lost length and, overall, appeal.
  
  Too much of everything, ripeness, concentration and alcohol, for me. Based on my experience with this producer, I would drink now. 90(-)

  June 10, 2020 - This wine is a Chameleon, and it’s not just the typical bottle variation; instead, it’s a wide-ranging profile of positives & negatives. All bottles were bought at the same time; under perfect storage conditions and consumed in one week. All bottles had solid corks, very deep red colors, short – medium finishes, and plenty of sediment.
  
  1st bottle was rather dull and unsatisfying (87). At this point, I assumed I got screwed on the purchase of 4 bottles.
  2nd bottle was peppery, gamey, very dark fruits and had abundant Asian spices (91).
  3rd bottle was very dense and exceeded my expectations with black coffee, cocoa powder, bitumen, and aged balsamic (94).
  4th bottle was noticeably sweeter but more acidic than previous bottles with flavors of camphor, black raspberries, dark violets, and some road tar with moderate tannin (93).
  
  The average score was 91.25.
  Although great things have been written about this wine; it should be approached with caution.

  April 18, 2020 - Arômes de baies rouges sucrées, de vieille barrique, d'épices...herbes de Provence, de garrigue, de charcuterie et de vanille. Première impression, asséchant...taux d'alcool 15.5%! Un vin puissant et chaud. Tannins sont fins. Son fruit est mûr...cerises et figues. Saveur d'anis également. Longue finale sur de notes de poivre et de caramel écossais. Excellent dans son ensemble et à boire d'ici 1-2 ans.

  April 16, 2020 - the alcohol has taken over. gonna give remaining bottles in cellar time and see if they improve somehow. otherwise down the drain....
