  September 23, 2023 - Lovely Volnay, my 3rd bottle of 6 purchased.
  Last tasted about 4 months ago, the wine was singing with red fruits and soil notes. Beautiful acidity and gritty tannins. Loved it.

  May 12, 2023 - 2nd bottle from a 6 pack. Last consumed about 18 mos ago.
  Drank with dear friends at AQS, the wine was firing on all cylinders and approached perfection in the moment.
  Splash decanted and consumed over ~45 mins...utterly refined, elegant, with red tart cherries and spice, brilliant earthy notes, long and incredibly brilliant finish with lovely tannins and supporting acidity. Drink through 2028 or so, just awesome.

With 3 hours of air this shows concentrated dark fruits but mostly about minerals at this point. Seems like a very good Volnay that just needs some more time to unfold. A-

  November 28, 2021 - 1st of 6 bottles. Definitely comes across with reduction on the nose upon opening.
  Refreshing red and some black fruits, cool on the palate but a bit heavier on the finish.
  Spicy tannins and ample acidity to usher in black fruits and spice.
  90 pts on day one.
  Left 1/2 the bottle in the cellar for 2 straight days, just got back to it.
  Wow, this wine has beautifully blossomed, showing bright red and black fruits, very floral and spicy, wet slate, cinnamon spice, moist autumn leaves.
  Just gorgeously biting tannins, with bright acidity and a long and fruit/earth-laden finish. 93 pts.
  Drink through 2030 or so.

On the palate this is more about minerals than fruit right now, and yet feels like it is built for the long haul with great concentration but also very balanced wine. Tannin is not at all showing with the decant but this wine feels like it needs a few years to open up and have the fruit shine. A-?
