June 2, 2021 - Last bottle...and BOY does this need some air!!! Stank tomato patch and tar upon opening...screeching acid...after a good hour decant...ahhhhhhh...there we go! Little more aged earth browning...not as vibrant as before...but shows similar notes...lovely tarted red berry (more plum) fruits and licorice...dried roses and orange potpourri...firm and perky acidity and tannin...dusty dry hay bale...tar...really goes well with some charcuterie and cheeses. But I think we are on the down slope as this gets a little whacky and disjointed at times...not the finesse it once had, and not a Barolo reminder like before. Nice Conterno drink...but hold no longer.

August 2, 2019 - Roberto bought Cerretta vintage in 2008, and this 2008 Cerreta is Conterno’s declassified Barolo. It has the richness in between a Langhe and Barolo, expressive nose of mixed berries, strawberries, old oak smoke and spices. Medium weight with soft tannins. Drink now to 2035. (87/100)

September 9, 2017 - Perfumed and open notes of truffle, darker fruit, licorice and some spices. Medium+ bodied with medium acidity and medium tannin. Medium length, clipping a little. Lacks a little in mid-palate and minerality compared to the CF. Still work in progress in 2008...
